The agenda for the August 23 meeting has been posted and now we see the motive. The BOE president creates the agenda, usually together with the Superintendent.
Here we see 2 motions, NOT recommended by the Superintendent OR by a BOE committee, indicating that maybe the BOE President came up with this idea on her own. The first motion accepts Dr. Dionisio's resignation, the second motion is to solicit search firm proposals in the following two business days, and hire a search firm on Aug 28.
NO discussion with the Board and community feedback about whether to search for an interim or permanent Superintendent
NO time allotted for a proper RFQ response
NO time allotted to interview and vet search firms before hiring them
NO time allotted for committee meetings or discussions
This seems to be a blatant attempt by Judy Sullivan to force a Superintendent hire through her lame duck board before she leaves office. Otherwise why not wait and allow the full board an opportunity to discuss this critical topic?
